What I love most about my lessons at The Musical Offering:

How funny my teacher (Mr. Rick) is and how he makes lessons feel shorter than they actually are. He helps me when the piano piece is hard. He helps me put hands alone and hands together. I also love his stuffed animal, Stanley, who you can put your hand on top of for a nice, round hand position! Currently I am working on a piece called "Minuet in F Major." It is hard and my recital is in 5 days but I am practicing every day and my teacher is helping me work on it.

Why I'm raising money for my music school:

Maybe we can get more instruments or upgrade the instruments and make it nicer for everyone. It also helps other students take lessons and I want to help everybody be able to play an instrument.

Why I like playing the piano:

It is a fun instrument that helps you work with your hands and helps you coordinate. I like how high pitched at one time and low pitched at another time it can be. I also like how you can play chords. I also like how you can play do, re, mi, fa, so, la, ti, do!

The Musical Offering is Evanston's community music school: a musical home for beginners to bloom and for more experienced musicians to explore their craft. Since the MO's inception in 2000, the school has continued to expand and evolve. One thing has always remained true: our commitment to the growth and development of the individual and community through high quality music instruction and performance.

For every $100 raised:

$40 will directly fund scholarships to students in the 2025/26 academic year
$40 will directly support new/upgraded pianos at the school
$20 will directly support our general operating costs
