I have been in the community of The Musical Offering for the past 5 years, studying piano with Mr. Rick Ferguson who is the Founder/Director. It's been so enriching for me. Here is some information about my life as a musician and how it has improved since being at the Musical Offering: 

Q 1: What do you love most about your music lessons or classes?

A 1: What I love about my music lessons/classes is always having fun and learning new techniques and ways to learn how to play a piece. Mr. Ferguson, the founder of this wonderful non-profit, is my teacher and he always adds a sense of ease to my lessons.

Q 2: Why did you choose the MO for lessons or classes?

​​​​​​A 2: I learned about MO for lessons through my mom doing research and reading reviews online about MO. When I started I immediately saw how committed everyone was to providing the best music lessons to people who love music making. I connected with Mr. Ferguson right away, and I have been committed to practicing every day from that day to this.  I enjoy and look forward to going to my lesson every week. 

Q 3: Why are you raising money to support the MO?

A 3: The more I learn about MO, the more I want to support this organization. I'm raising money so future musicians can learn music making at this wonderful organization (singing, piano, guitar, etc). I especially appreciate the MO Scholarship Program which provides music instruction to people who might not otherwise be able to afford lessons.

I hope you enjoyed learning about me and my experience at the Musical Offering (MO). They have helped me learn more musical techniques, and I hope you do too!

The Musical Offering is a musical home for beginners to bloom and for more experienced musicians to explore their craft. Since the MO's inception in 2000, the school has continued to expand and evolve. One thing has always remained true: our commitment to the growth and development of the individual and community through high quality music instruction and performance. Through its high quality musical instruction, opportunites, and performances, The Musical Offering provides a vital service to the community, enriching the lives of our students and the citizens of Evanston and beyond.

As The Musical Offering celebrates how far we've come, we also look forward to prepare for the future with our annual Music Marathon fundraiser and performance event with a goal to raise $12,000. Every dollar raised will go directly to helping us achieve our 2023/2024 priorities that include:

• Supporting new programming such as our new musical theatre training program for middle school students, Junior MO Show.
• Welcoming guest artists and musicians to perform, teach masterclasses, and interact with Musical Offering students.
• Continuing to increase our scholarship fund to provide a more substantial number of scholarships for the 2023/24 academic year.
• Upgrading existing pianos with new instruments.
